Usually, I will spend the day out with Raecia - my best friend as it happens during our school holidays. However, Raecia is currently on internship and she had to work on my birthday so we decided to make plans for the day before.
THE DAY BEFORE:
It was the day of the departure for the students going on the San Fran/LA FMS study trip. Decided to send a friend off, Wye Kheung and met up with him in the morning to chatter the time before his flight.
Managed to catch up with some of my batchmates as well, Gloria, Melissa as well as Chloe!
Not a very good picture, but there weren't much pictures taken so - ha.
Bid the kids goodbye as they headed off into the wonderland of Changi's transit mall - which is so amazing. Still missing the perks of entering the magical carpeted areas during my internship period. Headed home to drop some stuff that I picked up from the office as well because I wasn't carrying a bag, which was pretty much very rare for me.
I'm the kind of person who tends to bring out more things than I require when I go out because I always want to be ready in unpredictable situations. For example, I carry wet tissues out because I am pretty particular about germs and dirt. Furthermore, I've been in various situations where I find myself needing wet tissues but not having them and it is disastrous. Can you imagine a bird poop landing on your hand and you're not even carrying wonderful smelling wet tissues that can save you?
To be honest, I thought about using a clutch the night before but as I didn't have a clutch of the appropriate size, I used this grey mesh bag. At 3am, I had thoughts of sewing floral fabric on so that it'd look perfect. I must have been insane. Thank God I decided on sleeping instead!
Love the Xiaomi Charger's box - Thanks Kheung for the birthday gift! :-)
Also (finally) wore my Yellow Stitchout Toms - a pair I bought in Florida back in 2011 when my family went there for the celebratory after PSLE/O Levels holidays. I've been unwilling to wear it out as I treasured it way too much for it to see the sunlight.
Moving on, I decided on taking a bus to Haji to meet Raecia. Biggest mistake ever? It took 1/2 an hour more than the estimated time. Recently my time estimation hasn't been the best and I've been late a lot. Need to quit this habit before school starts and the bad consequences roll in!
We circled around Haji Lane twice as we weren't hungry enough for Stateland Waffles. However, after a while of walking in the heat, we couldn't take it and decided to take cover at Stateland.
Ordered our coffees and it was an amazing 2 hours of talking and catching up! Spending time with her is so precious now that we're both as busy as each other. Especially enjoyed the time together :") Loved that it was a Monday thus Stateland was so empty we literally spent a majority of the time in the store alone together.
Oh, and we eventually did get waffles, yum yum!
I also learned what a Macchiato is. The most bitter coffee I have ever tasted in my life served in a teeny weeny cup. Never. Again.
6935th day:
Woke up and basically lazed the day away as I had zero plans at all. I've always felt like the actual day is never as fun as the build up? People tend to normally celebrate it for me before the actual date especially since I usually spend birthday dinners with my family.
Waited for my Dad to get home to send us off to Marriott for my birthday dinner.
I love love love Marriott cafe's buffet line! So much goodies!
I basically only took photos of my extreme favourites - Smoked Salmon, Salmon Sashimi, Tuna Sashimi and Cold Oysters! I would definitely recommend Mariott Cafe though it's a little pricey at ~ $68/++ per person. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful!
Got a delicious oreo cheesecake from Marriott! Plus my Mother bought me a bouquet of flowers :") I absolutely adore flowers!
I make really intense wishing faces. For example,
This was from Sunday when the cell celebrated September babies, Wai Teng and I!
Well, I'm nineteen now. Although I may not look like I am of my age. To be honest, I've always wanted to grow up sooner so that my ideal life will finally begin. I never realised though, with age, responsibilities and burdens grow too with you. I wish I took more time enjoying my teenage years, despite the unbearable periods. Here's to one last teen year before the big-two-o!
