Hello 2017.
It’s been a while; well two years to be exact, since I’ve
been active on this spot and I have decided to get back on to:
1.
Track
my life and interesting happenings – cause we all need a space to save such
moments down
2.
Further
enhance and improve my writing skills – we can never practise our skills “too
much”
3.
Because
I feel like it – and that’s the best reason for this.
Two years in University has finally come to pass and I’m in
disbelief myself at how fast time flew by.
New environments can be challenging; thus, it was no surprise
that year one seemed to be that way. Having to juggle between school work, JCRC
and various other commitments outside of the school context was tiring – and it
drained me out. I’m glad that it was over not because it was exhausting, but
because I learnt a lot and exposed myself to numerous experiences that only
freshman year can provide.
Junior year was a little more different as I had lesser commitments
and I was freer. For once, I finally found myself hanging out in my room more as
compared to in year one – also sleeping more regularly and earlier. I was doing
better in time management as well, being more prompt and less last minute with
my essays and submissions. I definitely did way better as compared to year one
where I only churned essays and ideas the night before! This improvement showed
in my second semester results where I attained 3 As – a milestone of my university
life, the first three As! Obtaining A for Voice Production was no surprise as
grades were released to us earlier via email but seeing the A’s for Fantasy
Literature & Romanticism and Sensibility Literature was a pleasant surprise.
Thank God for the A’s!
However, having a boyfriend who was running the JCRC was a
completely different story. It was difficult on top of the fact that he had so
much more to juggle – studies, the committee and our relationship. I’m glad we
pulled through the year and summer is here! Really excited for our Bangkok trip
coming on the 12th of July.
Though I still have one more event to run for the hall,
Dinner & Dance, I really am thankful for a solid committee. Our problems
might not have surfaced just yet but I’m working on it. I’m glad that I decided
to run co-chair alongside my pageant mates.
Recently, I started internship at a PR agency – The Hoffman
Agency. It’s been an interesting past three days of overwhelming information
and a bit of a shock. Though I do know how PR agencies work, getting to
experience one for myself has been rather different and I’m excited to learn
more and see where this goes. I have really nice desk mates – Jacintha, and a
rather interesting character – Rasheed; though he scared me sometimes with the
things he utters and mannerism but everyone’s been telling me not to worry about
it so…
That's all I have for now!
